- 470 g boxed spice cake mix
- 820 g canned apple pie filling
- 170 g unsalted butter, melted
- 100 g quick-cooking oats
- 100 g chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions
- Combine the spice cake mix, quick-cooking oats, and melted unsalted butter in a bowl. Mix thoroughly until crumbly.
- Spread the canned apple pie filling evenly over the bottom of a 5–6 litre slow cooker.
- Distribute the cake mixture evenly over the apple layer.
- Sprinkle the chopped walnuts over the top, if using.
- Cover and cook on the HIGH setting for 120 minutes.
- Serve warm or chilled, optionally accompanied by ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes
For a richer flavor, add cinnamon or nutmeg to the cake mixture. Use different fruit fillings for variations.
