Description

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs ground beef (or turkey for a leaner option)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 3 slices cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Pickles, to taste
  • Ketchup, to taste
  • Mustard, to taste
  • Mayo, to taste
  • 3 hamburger buns (preferably toasted)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill or stovetop pan over medium-high heat.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and a sprinkle of salt and pepper.
  3. Form the beef into 6 equal patties, pressing down slightly in the center.
  4. Grill or pan-fry the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side, adding a slice of cheese for the last minute.
  5. Lightly toast the buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
  6. Assemble the burger: start with a bottom bun, add a cheesy patty, layer on tomato, lettuce, and pickles; repeat with another patty, add more toppings, finish with the third patty, drizzle ketchup, mustard, and mayo, then cap with the top bun.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy!
