Ingredients

- 1 1/2 lbs ground beef (or turkey for a leaner option)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 3 slices cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 1 tomato, sliced
- Lettuce leaves
- Pickles, to taste
- Ketchup, to taste
- Mustard, to taste
- Mayo, to taste
- 3 hamburger buns (preferably toasted)
Instructions
- Preheat your grill or stovetop pan over medium-high heat.
- In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and a sprinkle of salt and pepper.
- Form the beef into 6 equal patties, pressing down slightly in the center.
- Grill or pan-fry the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side, adding a slice of cheese for the last minute.
- Lightly toast the buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
- Assemble the burger: start with a bottom bun, add a cheesy patty, layer on tomato, lettuce, and pickles; repeat with another patty, add more toppings, finish with the third patty, drizzle ketchup, mustard, and mayo, then cap with the top bun.
