Description

A delightful dish that combines the comforting flavors of a cheeseburger with the convenience of a pie, perfect for family dinners and gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 450 grams ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon fine salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon tomato ketchup
  • 120 grams shredded cheddar cheese
  • 120 milliliters whole milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 65 grams Bisquick mix

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Cook ground beef with chopped onion until the beef is browned and the onion is tender. Drain excess fat from the skillet.
  3. Stir in salt, black pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and ketchup into the cooked beef mixture. Mix it all together thoroughly.
  4. Transfer the seasoned beef mixture into a 23-centimeter pie plate, spreading it out evenly.
  5. Evenly distribute shredded cheddar cheese over the beef mixture.
  6. In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, and Bisquick mix until a smooth batter forms.
  7. Gently pour the prepared batter over the beef and cheese layers in the pie plate.
  8. Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for 25–30 minutes, until the top is golden and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow the pie to rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving warm.

Notes

Drain the fat from the beef mixture to keep the pie from becoming too greasy. Feel free to add cooked bacon bits or diced tomatoes for extra flavor. You can use different types of cheese, like mozzarella or pepper jack, if you prefer.
