Description

Delicious and fun pizza stuffed waffles that combine the best of both worlds: pizza and waffles. Perfect for any meal or snack and customizable to your liking!


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons pizza sauce
  • 50 grams sliced pepperoni
  • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Nonstick cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Whisk together all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, granulated sugar, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until thoroughly combined.
  3. Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and blend until a smooth batter forms, taking care not to overmix.
  4. Lightly coat a waffle iron with nonstick cooking spray and preheat according to manufacturer instructions.
  5. Pour an even layer of batter into the preheated waffle iron and cook for 5 to 7 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Remove cooked waffles and allow to cool briefly, then slice each waffle horizontally to form top and bottom halves.
  7. Spread pizza sauce onto the bottom half of each waffle, add shredded mozzarella and sliced pepperoni, and broil just until the cheese is melted.
  8. Cover with the waffle top halves and serve promptly while hot.
