Description
A delicious low-carb dish that combines the flavors of a classic cheeseburger in a hearty casserole.
Ingredients
Scale
- 450 g ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (optional)
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 115 g cream cheese
- 120 ml heavy cream
- 60 g shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
- 1 tablespoon sugar-free ketchup
- 2 large eggs
- 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 60 g shredded mozzarella cheese
- 60 g shredded cheddar cheese
- Chopped pickles, to garnish (optional)
- Sliced green onions or chopped parsley, to garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F). Lightly grease a 20 x 20 cm baking dish.
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook until the meat is no longer pink. If there’s excess fat, drain it off.
- Spread the cooked beef mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the cream cheese, heavy cream, mustard, sugar-free ketchup, eggs, and shredded cheddar until smooth.
- Pour the cheese mixture evenly over the beef layer in the dish.
- Sprinkle the crumbled bacon, mozzarella, and more cheddar cheese on top. Garnish with pickles and herbs if desired.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly. Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Customize the cheese and add extra vegetables like tomatoes or bell peppers for additional flavor.
