  • Author: earthsea
  • Total Time: 60 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

A fun and delicious way to enjoy a classic side dish, featuring crispy edges and fluffy centers that impress at any meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium Russet potatoes
  • 0.25 teaspoon fine salt
  • 0.125 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 0.125 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 0.125 teaspoon granulated garlic
  • 0.125 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 4 to 6 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

Instructions

  1. Wash and thoroughly dry the Russet potatoes.
  2. Using a sharp knife, make horizontal cuts across each potato, slicing no more than halfway through. For a crispier texture, angle the slices as desired.
  3. Set the oven to 200°C (about 400°F).
  4. In a small bowl, combine salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, garlic, and smoked paprika until evenly blended.
  5. Evenly spritz each potato with olive oil, ensuring the oil runs down into the slices. Sprinkle the seasoning blend over each potato, distributing evenly.
  6. Place the seasoned potatoes on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes until golden and crisp on the edges.

Notes

For extra crispy potatoes, you can increase the baking time slightly. Experiment with different seasonings to customize the flavor.
