Description

Quick and crispy air fryer sardines coated in breadcrumbs, perfect as a snack or main dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cans sardines (packed in oil or water)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 ½ tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • Oil (for spraying)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine the egg, flour, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Whisk until smooth.
  2. In a shallow dish, add the breadcrumbs.
  3. Working one at a time, gently coat a sardine in the egg wash. Transfer it to the breadcrumbs and gently press breadcrumbs onto all sides of the sardine.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F. Place the sardines inside with a little space between each one so air can circulate. Spray the tops generously with oil and air fry for 4-5 minutes.
  5. Flip the sardines, spray with more oil, and air fry for another 4-5 minutes.

Notes

Stored leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in air fryer until warm and crispy.
