- 1/3 cup Panko Breadcrumbs
- 1 Large Egg

- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- Pinch of Cayenne Pepper
- 1 cup Mayonnaise (for sauce)
- 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice (for sauce)
- 1 tablespoon Minced Garlic
- 1 teaspoon Dijon Mustard (for sauce)
- 1 teaspoon Pickle Juice
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 teaspoon Paprika (plus more for garnish)
- 1 teaspoon Hot Sauce
- 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika
- Pinch of Cayenne Pepper (for sauce)
- Chopped Chives (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the lump crab meat, Panko breadcrumbs, large egg, finely diced shallot, mayonnaise, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, salt, and a pinch of cayenne pepper. Mix gently until all the ingredients are combined.
- Shape the mixture into small patties.
- Preheat your air fryer at 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
- Place the crab cakes in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for about 10-12 minutes or until golden brown, flipping halfway through.
- In a separate bowl, mix the mayonnaise, lemon juice, minced garlic, Dijon mustard, pickle juice, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, hot sauce, smoked paprika, and a pinch of cayenne pepper. Whisk until smooth and set aside.
- Serve the crab cakes warm, drizzled with the crab cake sauce, garnished with additional paprika and chopped chives.
Notes
For a twist, consider adding corn or diced bell peppers to the mixture for extra flavor. Store leftover crab cakes in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.
